Stealth & 3000GT
Miniatures |
|
|
Welcome to my catalog
of known miniatures of the Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000GT.
Unless otherwise noted, I own a fair number of these minis. I'm
sure there are others out there, and if you know of such, please
contact me at the bottom of the page. |
Matchbox Cars - Standard Series |
|
|
|
|
These models are the standard models which range from about $.74 to $1.29 depending on where you buy them. To my knowledge,
the #28 Blue was the original Spyder model, and others have followed, including the special series featured below.
The #49 Blue is a 1999 model.
The "Convertibles" set includes a black Spyder (bottom), also included are Mustang, Viper, Prowler, and Mercedes.

This loose Spyder is blue with green splash paint and green interior came packaged with a box for a "garage" to store it in.
Here's a car I've never seen before, but grabbed the image. It's an Australian version Matchbox Spyder detailed with
"Redback Spider" and a spider painted on it. Pretty neat!

Matchbox Cars - Premier Series |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
These are all of the colors that I know of for the Premier Series, a special edition series where each model was limited to a run of 25,000.
The cars feature over-sized rubber tires, and have painted interior and exterior details.
The Silver below I acquired over the internet and it was already loose, so I don't know which series it came from, but it is the same
design and quality as the other Premier models. These were retail priced at about $3.99 - $5.99. |

Matchbox Cars - Challenge Series & Gold Coin |
|
|
|
These two versions featured special details and very limited production runs.
The Gold Challenge series was a series of 75 models
specially packaged, painted in a unique-to-this-series gold paint, and limited to production runs of 10,000 per model. This series retailed
for about $9.99 but was extremely hard to find.
The Gold Coin is the most elite of the models. It comes in a small box (folded open in the case) with the car banded to the base, and
featuring a gold colored coin and certificate of authenticity. The box is encased in a angular box that is about 8" tall. Production
run very limited to only 5000 per model. This model retailed for about $19.99, were nearly impossible to find. Both of these models are
even difficult to find on the internet.

Super-rarities! These are die-cast METAL miniatures of
first generation (1991-1993) 3000GT/GTOs!! They are 1/40
scale, measuring about 4.5 inches long, and feature opening
hoods with engine, doors with interior, and rubber tires.
Colors I've come across are all pictured: black, red, yellow,
blue (the true color is better represented with in teh picture
with both a blue and yellow), and the green race version
with the Puma sponsor logos. They were made in Japan and
are under the Diapet brand.

|
The following series of images are 1/32 scale second generation (1994-1996) 3000GT's. Both a red and yellow version are pictured here.
These are diecast metal cars with opening doors are are pull-back toys - you pull them back, winding them up, and when you let go, they take off!
Pretty cool!

These are MicroMachine cars, measuring only one inch long!
They are all First Generation models (pop-up headlights).
The yellow is from a "Best of '94" set, despite the fact
that it is a 1st generation car! It was packaged with an
RX-7, Miata, and Del Sol. Not exactly sure which set the
red one is from, but I have seen the MicroMachines in Red,
Orange, and Yellow. Obviously they were available in some
quantities at some time in the pictured blue, gold, and
purple (as pictured in the group below). I do not personally
own any of the MicroMachines.

These two cars are actually slot cars for use on Tyco and other brand electric slot car race tracks. I have an original
sealed black one (paid $19.00).

Got Something?!?
Do you have something I don't have shown here?
If you have something, I would love to have an image and description of it to be added to these pages. You've seen
what all I have here, anything that relates to the Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000GT.
